Successful project delivery

A successful project launch is a carefully-planned celebration!

📝 Feature documentation

When we deliver new features to clients we need to tell them how to use them, and where to find them. Projects should ship with documentation, created using the Branded Documentation template. There should be one document per feature and/or system.

Documentation sub-folder

  • Top-level "Documentation" folder is created in the client Googled Drive folder.
    • A sub-folder, "Documentation - Platform - System name" gets shared with client.
Branded Documentation Template

Tangible's client documentation documents are created in Google Drive using this template as a starting point.

Training calls

  • Cover important admin changes
  • What will change in their processes
  • How to use new functionality

Right now clients flail around and get frustrated and reach out piecemeal, and can cause issues on their sites using new features incorrectly.

Screen recordings

  • Cover important process flows and changes
  • Upload to Google Drive

📆 Launch planning

We need to set expectations around launch date and schedule it with the client, clearly communicating about any risks, downtime, or any responsibilities that fall to them for launch.

🛟 Ongoing support

We may need to support the client's use of the new feature going forward. Any time we get on a call or respond to email questions about the feature, we should update the documentation with the new information we share with the client.

🗣️ Collecting information for marketing

The marketing team will love you forever if you can help facilitate getting them a writeup describing the project. Feature documentation would be helpful for them too, as well as client testimonials collected immediately following successful feature launches.
